How to Get Around Disney World Without a Car

Do you need a car to get around Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida?

If you're staying at a Disney resort, the answer is "not really". Once you're at a resort, you can easily get to your park of choice via bus, ferry, Skyliner, and/or monorail.

Minnie Van

There are multiple transportation options between the airport and resorts, one of which is Minnie Van Service. These polka-dotted vans can be ordered through the Lyft app and provide seating for up to 5 people, a complimentary car seat, and two spaces for mobility devices.

Bus Service

All resorts offer bus transportation to and from the resort and Disney Springs or the resort and Disney theme parks.

Water Transportation

Ferry boats and/or water taxis are available to Magic Kingdom from Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, Disney's Wilderness Lodge, and Disney's Contemporary Resort.

EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios are accessible via the FriendShip Boat from Disney's BoardWalk Villas, Disney's Beach Club Villas, Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, and Walt Disney World Swan Hotel.

Disney Springs is accessible via the Sassagoula River Cruise from Disney's Old Key West Resort, Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter, and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside.

Monorail

The Walt Disney World Monorail System has three separate beams that travel throughout Walt Disney World Resort and make stops at Magic Kingdom, Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, and the Transportation and Ticket Center. There are also express round-trip services between the Transportation and Ticket Center and EPCOT and Magic Kingdom.

Skyliner

The Skyliner, one of my family's favorite ways to get around Disney, is accessible from Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney's Riviera Resort. This gondola system connects those resorts to Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. Plus, the EPCOT station is within walking distance of Disney's BoardWalk entertainment district, Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Disney's Beach Club Resort, and Disney's BoardWalk Inn.

If you DO rent a car AND you stay at a resort, parking at the resort is free and so is parking at the parks!
