The 1 Day Refund Book Review

If you've ever felt overwhelmed by your to-do list, in your personal or professional life, let productivity coach Donna McGeorge help you better manage your time. As the title of her new book suggests, it's possible to get a 1-day refund every week when you manage your time wisely. This means only giving 85 percent and allowing a 15 percent buffer "for capacity and space".

Whether you need more thinking space, breathing space, living space, or work space, McGeorge helps you identify what you need and the steps to achieve it.

This is a short book that's easy to read in bite-size chunks. (I read a chapter every night before bed and kept the book on my nightstand.) It's got lots of exercises and reflection questions to help you pause and consider changes to make in your life.

What would you do with a whole day of free time? You don't have to just imagine it!

This book reminds me of Laura Vanderkam's Off the Clock in its suggestion to keep a daily log to see exactly how you spend your time. I did that back when I read Off the Clock and discovered that I really did have time to do the things I wanted, and I was using that time to do those things! For me, and McGeorge talks about this, I need to have set times to do those things so I don't feel overwhelmed waiting for that free time to appear.

The 1 Day Refund is published by Wiley and is available to purchase now. I received a free review copy.
