Last week I shared with you the books that I did not enjoy reading this year, but today you're going to find out which books got a 5-star rating from me! These are the 10 best books I read this year!Watching You by Lisa Jewell and The Third Wife by Lisa Jewell
Yes, Lisa Jewell made my list twice this year. I thought both of these thrilling books were just amazing! I really enjoyed the way Jewell writes, and how each of these books kept me guessing.
The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin
Here's a book that will make you think. If you knew when you would die, how do you think that would affect the rest of your life? And would you want to know the day of your death? That's what happens to the siblings in this book.
Lying in Wait by Liz Nugent
A murder, a very strange family, a mystery that finally becomes unraveled. This was an intense book, one that I couldn't put down. I would highly recommend it if you're a fan of murder mysteries.
When Faith Fails by Dominic Done
I reviewed an ARC of this book, all about a pastor struggling with his own faith. A must-read for anyone who finds themselves in these shoes.
Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg
I'm sure most women have probably read this book by now, but I didn't "lean in" to the book until this year. Took lots of notes while reading, as I saw myself falling into the pitfalls that Sandberg is trying to warn us against.
The Adults by Caroline Hulse
I loved this book! I think if there was a favorite book of the year, it would be this one. I had dreams about this book because I enjoyed reading it so much and didn't want to put it down. Imagine what would happen if you went on a vacation with your ex and your ex's partner. Would you be able to act like adults?
The First Love Story: Adam, Eve and Us by Bruce Feiler
This book had been on my to-read list for awhile, and I finally got to read it this year. It's an interesting look at how our idea of love today is shaped by the very first husband and wife, Adam and Eve.
Have More Fun by Mandy Arioto
I got to read this book as part of its launch team, and it was really eye opening. It's perfect for all moms to find the fun again. We get so bogged down with things that we need to do, that we often forget how to make the time to have fun. I also posted a review of this book here.
Memory-Making Mom by Jessica Smartt
Another great books for moms is this one. You don't have to do a lot to make memories with your kids. You can check out my review of this book here.
