It's been awhile since I supplied an update on the potty training. Back in March, I implemented sticker charts. Each time she pees (or poops) on the potty, she gets to put a sticker on the chart. Once she reaches the "special reward" section on the chart, she gets to pick a special reward, such as ice cream, a cupcake, or a ride on the stupid carousel thing that costs $1 at the mall.
We're actually on our fourth sticker chart right now, and things have been going pretty well. She's more willing to sit on the potty, though I'm still bribing her with Peppa Pig episodes to watch while she does it.
One other thing that has really been helping is the purchase of an OXO travel potty. It has legs that fold up and down to make it easy to travel with. We took it on a weekend trip to Niagara Falls two months ago, and she sat and peed on it all weekend. She even TOLD us when she had to go a couple times. We had eight stickers to put on our chart when we got home! (She refuses to sit on adult toilets, even with a child seat placed on top.) I bring that thing with us everywhere we go, just in case. It's definitely come in handy during trips to restaurants and MOPS.
We're to the point where I think this month I'm going to put her in regular underwear every day except for daycare days and see how she does with that. I totally get that she might end up peeing her pants, but maybe if it only happens once, she'll get the picture?
Now we just need to figure out how to make her poop on the potty instead of in her Pull-Up at night, but that's a whole other battle.
