Rebel Girls Rock: 25 Tales of Women in Music Book Review

We are big fans of the Rebel Girls book series in my house, and yesterday, a new volume was added to the Rebel Girls collection: Rebel Girls Rock: 25 Tales of Women in Music. This is a smaller paperback book that would be perfect as a birthday present, Easter basket item, or stocking stuffer for any girl who loves music. It's also a great way for music-loving parents to introduce their daughters to historic women who rock!

As the subtitle suggests, the book provides bedtime story-style tales of 25 women across the musical spectrum. My daughter was super excited to turn the pages and discover some of her favorites: Blackpink, Olivia Rodrigo, and Lizzo. I couldn't wait to read the stories about Dolly Parton, M.I.A., and Selena. For each rebel girl, you can scan a QR code to hear more! (While Joan Jett was not included in this volume, she did provide the introduction to the book.)

There's even a section in the back of the book where girls can write their own story and draw their own self-portrait, cementing their Rebel Girl status within the pages of the book.

And because it was probably really hard to narrow down this book to only 25 fierce females, you can read bite-size stories about Beyonce, Gloria Estefan, JoJo Siwa, Lady Gaga, and more in the "Meet More Rebels" section.

For girls who are inspired to get rockin', check out the "Make Your Own Music" section to learn about writing lyrics, make a drum, and more.

These books are so inspiring for today's girls, and I really appreciate the QR codes and bonus activities to make the book more interactive.

Rebel Girls Rock: 25 Tales of Women in Music is published by Rebel Girls and is available to purchase now. I received a free review copy.
