People Person Book Review

The Pennington half-siblings grew up knowing of each other but not really knowing each other. Their common denominator was their absentee father who only got all of his children together one time when they were growing up. But when sister Dimple finds herself in a sticky situation, her half-siblings show up to help, and the group finds themselves creating the family life they always wished they had.

That's the premise of Candice Carty-Williams' new novel People Person, and let me tell you, the story gets pretty crazy: hiding dead bodies, blackmail, abandonment issues, immigration, social media stardom. It's all here!

While the main story is told through the eyes of Dimple, readers do get to know her other siblings: Nikisha, Danny, Lizzie, and Prynce. Each character is unique and funny, and you almost wish that you were part of the family, too.

That said, there are a lot of characters, and it could sometimes be hard to keep track of everybody. But I would definitely give this book a read once it comes out. It will provide some great discussion for your next book club meeting.

People Person is published by Scout Press and will be available to purchase on September 13, 2022. I received a free advance review copy.
