Snowman Food for Kids

So far this year, we've only had one snow day from school. As pretty as snow is, I'd rather eat one of these cute snowman treats than shovel snow from my driveway. Some of these we've tried ourselves, while others are on our must-make list. Stock the ingredients for your favorites so you can make these easy snowman treats with your kids the next time they're home from school because of snow.

Powdered Sugar Donut Snowman

You can either use donut holes and build your snowman by stacking up two or three, or do what we did and take a whole powdered sugar donut and decorate the snowman's face. Chocolate chips and pretzel sticks are good decorative and edible pieces. We also used red Pez candy to create a powdered sugar donut Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer! Just grab whatever you have in your pantry to make these winter snacks for kids.

Snowman Pancakes

Your favorite pancake recipe can become an edible snowman by simply joining a small pancake for the head with a larger pancake for the body with a strip of bacon. Decorate with chocolate chips and powdered sugar. If you still have leftover candy corn from Halloween, why not break it out and add a nose? Didn't we create a cute snowman?

Cinnamon Roll Snowman

Dukes and Duchesses had a similar idea to the above - making a snowman out of cinnamon rolls! Bacon scarf and chocolate chip eyes and smile make yummy toppings for refrigerated cinnamon rolls. These would be such decadent breakfast treats for kids!

Marshmallow Snowmen

This marshmallow snowman snack is super easy, and kids will love being able to build their snowman themselves. Grab large and mini marshmallows and stack them up to create a squishy soft snowman. Decorate with chocolate chips, thin pretzel sticks, candy corn (for the nose), and any other small candies you think would work best. This was actually an activity that we did at my daughter's Frozen-themed birthday party last year.

Marshmallow Snowmen Hot Chocolate

I don't know about you, but I love marshmallows in my hot cocoa (dairy-free, of course). Why not follow these ideas from Kitchen Fun with My 3 Sons to turn large marshmallows into snowmen floating in your warm beverage? Hot chocolate is one of my favorite winter snacks to warm up after playing outside in the snow.

Snowman Veggie Tray

I love this idea from Instrupix to turn healthy foods fun! Three bowls of ranch dressing (can be plant-based!), mushrooms, and cauliflower become the snowman's body. Accent with strips of bell pepper, broccoli, carrots, and your other favorite veggies. This would be great for those upcoming Super Bowl parties!

Snowman Pizzas

Tablespoon had the great idea to take pizza dough (can be gluten-free!) and bake a snowman-shaped pizza. All you need is pre-made dough, your favorite toppings, and a hungry tummy. My kid LOVES pizza, so this is right up our alley.

Snowman Cupcakes

Turn vanilla-frosted cupcakes into melting snowmen by adding a giant marshmallow on top with a few other candy accouterments, just like the ones made by Sarah's Bake Studio. These would be so cute for a winter birthday party!

String Cheese Snowmen

Speaking of birthday parties, these string cheese snowmen would make great winter-themed snacks for your party guests. Spaceships and Laser Beams drew cute snowmen faces on the plastic wrap around the cheese and added black cardstock hats and ribbon scarves.

Snowman Popcorn Mix

Here's one we gotta try at our next family movie night! Smashed Peas and Carrots had the bright idea to deconstruct a snowman with a bag of microwave popcorn. Add pretzel sticks and your favorite candy toppings, mix with melted white chocolate (did you know they make dairy-free white chocolate??) and the popcorn for the perfect winter snack mix!
