Forget Dieting! Book Review

The end of a year always brings about New Year's Resolutions. And losing weight is usually one of the biggest goals. But how well will a traditional diet really work?

Candice P. Rosen's book Forget Dieting! aims to change how you think about getting healthy and losing weight. Instead, she uses data-driven fueling to keep your blood sugar in check and your machine (aka, your body) working as it should.

I recognized a lot of the information in this book from other books I've read about plant-based and vegan diets. So for me, this book was just more information to add to my knowledge arsenal. But for some of you, this could all be new information! Imagine: tuning in to how your body feels 90 minutes after each meal. If you feel sluggish and bloated, what you ate probably wasn't good fuel for your body.

I also never thought about how some foods shouldn't be combined. I've been guilty of eating tortillas with rice and meat. Never once did I think that maybe my stomach couldn't handle digesting all of those things together.

There's some good insight in this book, as well as recipes to get you started. If you're ready and willing to commit to this new lifestyle, then pick up Forget Dieting! and give it a go.

Forget Dieting! is published by Rowman & Littlefield Publishers and is on bookstore shelves now. I received a free PDF review copy.
