Sometimes when I have too many photos or too many single-event photos that don't need their own separate layouts, I use a pocket page to quickly scrapbook those photos. Pocket Page Scrapbooking, sometimes called Project Life, can be really easy but also challenging. Here are a few recent pocket pages that I created that hopefully inspire you to try this the next time you sit down to scrapbook.
This first page is one that I do very frequently. I take all the random photos from the month and create a monthly pocket page. I use specific papers from Simple Stories with fun patterns and cut-aparts that let me insert a calendar and the name of the month into some of the pockets. Then I embellish either the photos or the exterior of the pocket page with embellishments.
This next spread includes a 6x12 pocket that came with a self-adhesive strip allowing me to stick it to the outside of the 12x12 pocket page. This allowed me to include even more photos. I got the 6x12 pocket from Creative Memories. All the rest of the pocket pages in this post are Scrapbook.com brand. I like their multi-packs of pocket pages because you get a variety of different designs. You can see that the above style is different from the style below.
Here's another all-horizontal pocket page using a combination of horizontal photos and 4x6 cut-aparts from a Simple Stories recipe-themed collection. I wasn't going to use the cut-aparts to write down recipes, so instead I used them to create mini layouts in the pockets. This was a great way to use up scraps, too!
And this last one is also a horizontal-only pocket page, and I only did the front side. (Don't worry - the back side got finished in a YouTube Live that I did last month.) This one is a baseball layout and was an easy way for me to scrapbook all of these photos at once.
I think the big reason why I like using pocket pages is that it allows me to easily scrapbook a lot of photos at once. I also like the creativity required to make mini scrapbook layouts in the pockets or figure out ways to add embellishments.
I hope that these scrapbook pages inspire you, too! Don't be afraid to try pocket page scrapbooking!
