What do you do when you're 40 years old, a widow, and raising a child on your own?
You do the best you can amidst nervous breakdowns and the weight of grief. And then you fall in love with someone else?
Kate's not sure she's willing to do that, despite how hot her new neighbor is. But when a business trip with her boss - who has been there for her like no other during her husband's early death from dementia - gets sidetracked because of a storm, Kate realizes what she really needs in her life. (And yes, that might just include her boss.)
Though a bit predictable, this loveable rom-com from Emma Grey makes you believe in love again. I couldn't put it down! The sexual tension between Kate and boss Hugh was super thick. But as a mom, I also understood Kate's desire to put her young son first and protect him from more loss. She's also a woman trying to protect her own heart, while trying to figure out how to make the most of the life she's lucky to still have, even if she has to do it without her husband.
I think this would make an excellent book club discussion about love, life, and going for what (and who) you want!
