Bright Young Women Book Review

Bright Young Women is a fantastic new novel from Jessica Knoll, author of Luckiest Girl Alive and The Favorite Sister. In 1978, a serial killer attacked women living in a Florida State University sorority house. Their president, Pamela, not only loses her sense of security in the house but also her best friend. And finding the killer becomes her number one task, one that Tina, a woman from Seattle, is all too eager to help with. After all, the same man killed Tina's best friend, too.

But it's the 1970s, and the women quickly find out just how little men in charge listen to ladies. Even the men they think they can trust - a reporter, a boyfriend - want the women to be quiet, do as they are told, and forget about what they know.

But Pamela can't forget. And so when in 2021 she receives a letter, she visits the sender to find the missing pieces of the puzzle and give long-lose friends the closure they deserve.

Wow wow wow. This novel was amazing. I loved how it was a commentary on how men - not just serial killers - are quick to dismiss women who are smarter than they are. I loved the dynamics between the characters and how everything in the story unfolded. This would make a great book club book!

Bright Young Women is published by Simon & Schuster and is available to purchase now. I received a free review copy.
