5 New Books to Give as Mother's Day Gifts

Mother's Day is coming up on May 14, and if the moms in your life are readers, then they might enjoy receiving one of these books as a Mother's Day gift!

The Mother Load: Surviving the Daily Grind Without Losing Your Ever-Loving Mind by Meredith Ethington

I posted my book review of this book last week. (Read it here!) I loved this book and think it's excellent for expecting, new, and seasoned moms. The book talks about the "mom brain", overcoming society's expectations, toxic positivity, and mental illness.

Hey, Hun: Sales, Sisterhood, Supremacy, and the Other Lies Behind Multilevel Marketing by Emily Lynn Paulson

This book doesn't come out until May 30, so if you want to gift it to the mom in your life (but probably not the mom in your life who is in an MLM), you'll have to give them a rain check. As the title suggests, Paulson sheds light on what goes on behind the scenes at an MLM. And she should know. She was in one for years! I'll have a full review of this book in a few weeks.

My First Mom and Daughter Journal: An Activity Book for Girls and Moms Together by Katie Clemons

This guided journal is perfect for moms and their daughters, ages 5 to 8. It's filled with adorable and interactive prompts and activities to deepen the mother-daughter bond. Don't worry - there's one for moms and sons, too! I can't wait to do this with my daughter on Mother's Day. Stay tuned for our review.

But Definitely Wear Mascara: Hacks to Help You Love Your Mom Life (And Yourself) A Little More by Nikki Oden

Being a mom is hard. If you're a mom with goals and dreams, #momlife feels even harder. So how do you accomplish everything you have to do and balance that with everything you want to do? Find out in Oden's book! I'll let you know more once I read and review the book.

Peaceful Discipline: Story Teaching, Brain Science, and Better Behavior by Sarah R. Moore

If you know a mom who is struggling with discipline (or if you are that mom), Moore's mixture of gentle parenting, improv comedy, and trauma recovery might be just the thing to bring joy back to your family. The tips in the book can help whether you're raising toddlers, preschoolers, or school-age children. I'll have a review of this book up soon, too!
