Before I was diagnosed as being lactose-intolerant, yogurt was a HUGE part of my daily food intake. I loved having yogurt as part of a light lunch or as a snack or as a dessert. Greek yogurt took me a while to get used to, but once I got it, I GOT IT. I never wanted to go back to regular yogurt.
But once my body started hating lactose, I couldn't go back to ANY yogurt.
Or so I thought.
What kind of yogurt is dairy-free? I quickly discovered that there are many types of dairy-free or plant-based yogurts out there, and I'm here to share with you four of my favorite dairy-free yogurt brands.
Dairy-Free Oui by Yoplait
Super creamy and thick, Yoplait's French-style coconut yogurt is deliciously sweet. It's almost like eating a dessert! This dairy-free yogurt comes in a cute little glass pot that you could totally wash out and reuse in a crafty way. Top it with your favorite granola or just enjoy it on its own. It comes in different flavors, including a seasonal pumpkin flavor, but honestly, the only flavor that I like is vanilla.
Cocojune
I got to sample Cocojune plant-based coconut milk yogurt last summer. Unfortunately, it's taken me this long to blog about it. Sorry!! I haven't seen this yogurt at my grocery store, which is also an unfortunate thing, because I really enjoyed this dairy-free yogurt. You can find it in a variety of flavors, including some unique ones, such as Strawberry Rhubarb and Lemon Elderflower. (Both were really yummy!) I also like that this is a dairy-free yogurt with probiotics.
Siggi's
I think Siggi's dairy-free yogurt is the best dairy-free yogurt right now. I like the different flavor choices (vanilla, strawberry, mixed berry, which is the best) and how easily I can find Siggi's at my local grocery store. This plant-based coconut milk yogurt has a nice texture and that reminds you of eating regular yogurt. Plus, this is a dairy-free yogurt with protein (10 grams!), and it won't upset my stomach.
Just be mindful when purchasing Siggi's Icelandic yogurt - the company also makes a regular yogurt that does contain dairy. You'll know it's the non-dairy yogurt version because it says "non-dairy" on the package, and the package color is brown instead of white.
AYO
I first wrote about this almond milk yogurt back at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Even though it's not available at my local grocery store, it still makes my list! If I could purchase it again, then I would! AYO is made of non-GMO organic almonds and organic fruits, and comes in flavors blueberry, peach, strawberry, vanilla, and plain.
I would love to know of any other dairy-free yogurts that you like, so leave them in the comments!
