I love a loaf of good banana bread. My great-aunt used to make the most amazing chocolate chip banana bread. (If you're not putting chocolate chips in your banana bread, then you're doing it wrong.)
We usually have ripe bananas left over at the end of every week, so, of course, we make banana bread. (Or rather, I make banana bread. My daughter and husband do not help. They just eat.)
Recently, I learned some very interesting banana bread hacks that have been total game changers when I make my go-to banana bread recipe. (More on that in a second.) So I wanted to share those hacks with you in case you were also looking an easy banana bread experience.
Why do you need these life-changing banana bread hacks? Maybe you're like me - someone who doesn't like bananas but really loves banana bread. You don't want mushy chunks of banana inside your banana bread, but you absolutely hate trying to mash up bananas with a fork and your arm strength.
Does that sound like you? Then check out these two things I've started doing that have resulted in the best banana bread ever!
1. Freeze the Bananas First
I learned this tip from Lil Sipper on Instagram. Store your ripe bananas in the freezer. If you know you're going to make banana bread later in the day or the next day, take the bananas and let them thaw in the fridge. Then, when it's time to get baking, your thawed bananas are already pretty mushy on their own. This means you have less mashing to do!
