Simply Christmas Book Review

Does the Christmas season stress you out? Do you constantly feel like everything has to be perfect? Author Tama Fortner is here to tell you to let it all go in her book Simply Christmas. Geared toward moms, the 31 devotions aim to help us quiet our minds and remember the reason for the season. Don't give in to the pressures of the season!

The book starts out by asking you what you really want to get out of the Christmas season - and even what things you'd like to kick to the curb! Maybe decorating your home's exterior with Christmas lights is stressful. So don't do it! No one says you have to.

Each day you'll read a devotion with a Bible verse, get a quick takeaway sentence (with beautiful holiday photography), and get a tip for how you can "reclaim Christmas".

I think one of my favorite no-stress family activities in the book is to have a pizza picnic and Christmas movie night. I know my kid would think that was amazing, and all you have to do is order a pizza or bake a frozen one, then pop in a movie.

Another helpful tip? Don't eat the gingerbread house and hot glue it together so it actually stays together. LOL

Seriously - you need this book this Christmas!

This is a book that you'll put out every year. It will become your personal holiday tradition to read through it each day of December (or maybe even each day of November to lead up to the holiday season.) I'm planning on using elements of the book in my December Daily scrapbook album. And, of course, I plan on using some of the Reclaiming Christmas tips in how my family celebrates the season.

Simply Christmas is published by Ink and Willow and is on bookstore shelves now. I received a free PDF version to review.
