Natrol Liquid Melatonin Sleep Support Review

Do you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep? Have you ever tried adding a Melatonin supplement to your bedtime routine?

That's what I tested out as part of a BzzAgent campaign. I received a free sample of Natrol Liquid Melatonin Sleep Support.

Now, normally melatonin is a hormone produced by our brain in response to darkness. Some people might not produce enough, and too much exposure to light before bedtime can make it hard for our brains to properly adjust. That's why it's advised that you turn off all screens at least 20 minutes before you go to bed.

Natrol Melatonin Liquid Sleep Support is a melatonin supplement meant to help with sleeplessness. What is sleeplessness? The inability to sleep or insomnia.

My sleep MO is usually to randomly wake up at least once in the middle of the night, and if my husband or daughter wake me up, then all bets are off for how long it's going to take me to fall back asleep. So I figured it couldn't hurt to try out this supplement.

I started out taking only half the recommended dosage just to see how my body reacted. Then I built up to the four recommended drops. I also experimented with mixing the drops with water, as the bottle says you can do.

First Night - 2 Drops with Water

No change in sleep patterns. Took awhile to fall asleep. Was woken up around 2 a.m. by my kid. Took an hour to fall back asleep after that.

Second Night - 3 Drops with Water

It felt like I fell asleep faster than normal. Woke up in the middle of the night (around 2 a.m.) but for no reason. Fell back to sleep right after checking the clock.

Third Night - 4 Drops with Water

It took me at least one hour to fall asleep. I randomly woke up in the middle of the night.

Fourth Night - 3 Drops Directly on Tongue

This was the only night that I slept through the night.

Fifth Night - 4 Drops Directly on Tongue

I fell asleep pretty quickly but was woken up at 3 a.m. by my daughter, and then I had trouble falling back asleep. Woke up feeling exhausted and ended up with a migraine.

Sixth Night  - 4 Drops Directly on Tongue

I fell asleep pretty quickly but was woken up two hours later when my husband came to bed, and then I still woke up two to three more times for no reason.

I liked the berry flavor, but overall, I don't think this supplement really did much for me. Is there a supplement that stops your kid from needing her back rubbed at 3 a.m. or that silences your husband's snores?
