NEW Holiday Books for Kids

It was a tradition for me when I was growing up to receive a new holiday book every Christmas. If that's a tradition in your family, then you might like adding one of these books to your collection. Any of these new holiday books for kids would be a great way to start a new holiday tradition.

And I'm sharing more Best Books for Kids on the Zulily blog.

Pocket Piggies: Christmas! by Richard Austin

The adorable Teacup Piggies of Pennywell Farm are back in this new board book, and they're wearing Santa hats! The littlest children will love looking at pictures of pigs playing in the snow and decorating for the holidays accompanied by simple prose about the joys of the season.

The Magic Christmas Ornament by James Barbato

Inspired by the author's father, an immigrant who was too poor to afford toys for his children, the book tells the story of a Christmas ornament with magical powers, taking children from their home directly to Santa's workshop. A physical ornament accompanies the book so you can hang the "magic" from your own Christmas tree.

Sibley's Christmas Adventure by Don Alhart

Local TV news-anchor Don Alhart shares a magical Christmas adventure in this picture book. Sibley the mouse goes on a holiday journey through a toyland in downtown Rochester, NY. Proceeds of this book benefit The ARC Foundation of Monroe, supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in the Rochester communities.

Santa in a Snow Globe by A.H. Edelman

Christmas is going to look different this year, and this picture book explains why. It explains how, even though the world is social distancing and wearing masks, Santa will still be able to visit on Christmas Eve.

The True Story of Santa Claus: The History, the Tradition, the Magic by Janet Giovanelli

Author Giovanelli brings her journalist's eye to this book, which explores the history of Father Christmas. The book's illustrations will delight readers young and old as they learn about where Santa came from and how he is able to visit every house around the world in just one night.

The Naughty List by Thomas Conway

Older children might enjoy reading this novel about saving Santa and the true meaning of Christmas. It's up to a group of "naughty list" children, unfairly labeled, to rescue Santa after he doesn't appear at the end of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

Claris: Holiday Heist by Megan Hess

The chicest mouse in Paris spends Christmas in the Big Apple saving a stolen gem from a cheeky cat burglar and learning that helping others is always in fashion. Kids and adults will love the fashionable illustrations of Claris' outfits and seeing the busy streets and iconic locales of New York City as they read.
