My Pinewood Kitchen Cookbook Review

I have had a free PDF of this cookbook sitting in my email since May! I am so truly sorry to the publisher and author for the delay in reviewing it.

I am also truly sorry to myself for taking so long to read it because it's just the type of cookbook I've been looking for. In My Pinewood Kitchen, Mee McCormick offers more than 130 gluten-free recipes that are designed to help reduce inflammation and make your gut happy.

In our family, my husband has Celiac disease and I have to avoid dairy, so we have some picky guts. This cookbook is exactly what we've been needing.

McCormick knows a thing or two about picky guts. She suffered from gastrointestinal issues for a long time before overhauling her diet and learning about the foods we should actually be eating. It's all about feeding the good bacteria in our gut and preventing the bad bacteria from thriving. Eating this way can help prevent disease and boost energy levels.

Think it sounds hard? McCormick lays it all out for you. The cookbook is divided into three parts: McCormick's own journey, the science behind the food, and recipes.

I can't wait to ty The Ranch Hand Salad, Farmhouse Ground Beef Stroganoff, Black Forest Smoothie, and Grain-Free Lava Cake, just to name a few.

If you're experiencing gastrointestinal issues, have food allergies, Celiac disease, or other autoimmune diseases, then you might want to give the recipes in this book a try. I'm even hoping that eating some of these powerhouse foods can help reduce the number of migraines I get per month. (Because God knows that the migraine preventative I take is not working.) And if you live near Pinewood, Tennessee, go check out McCormick's restaurant and let her make some of these delicious Southern-style meals for you!

My Pinewood Kitchen is published by Health Communications Inc., and is on bookstore shelves now. I received a free review copy for my honest review.
