Minnidip Pool Review

I was lucky enough to receive a free Minnidip inflatable pool to review this summer, and we've been having a blast cooling off in it. Yes, it's nice to have a pool in our own backyard (or front yard, rather), but this is also the nicest wading pool we've ever owned. Here's why.

Unlike our old plastic wading pool, the Minnidip is a bit bigger. And unlike the weird flexible pool we had last summer with the sides that were supposted to "click" into place but never did, the Minnidip is sturdy. I didn't have to worry about the sides falling in while trying to fill it or while my daughter was playing.

The Minnidip also has a drain plug in the bottom lining to make it easier to drain all the water. It definitely helped the process, but you will still have to deflate the sides and push them down to get all of the water out.

I also love the different designs. I received the signature That's Banana(Leave)s! design, which retails for $45. They look really sharp in your yard, and they're not the typical kid designs with smiling fish. That's probably because the Minnidip is definitely more of an adult kiddie pool, for teens and adults who want to cool off in their backyards without the hassle and upkeep of a permanent pool.

At 5.5 feet by 1.5 feet, the Minnidip can comfortably seat three adults (and is for ages 6 and up), while the 4-feet by 1-foot Minni-Minni is the right size for kids ages 3 and up.

The only thing I had trouble with was closing the air valve covers. Each of the three air valves has two covers. You have to inflate, then close the first cover so that there's no gap. Sometimes it was just hard to be fast enough getting the cover closed before all the air went out. And even when I felt like I had closed it right, I could still hear air leaving the pool.

But even if it seems like the inflatable ring isn't full enough, there's a second inflation step where you either blow air into the ring by mouth or use an electric pump to add in more air, and that makes everything nice and full.

It's handy to use an electric pump for inflation, but you can also use a hairdryer on the cool setting.

I'm so glad that the Minnidip is part of our lives right now. I find it easy to set up, it looks really cool while it's out in our yard during the day, and I love the sturdiness and ease of draining, when compared to other wading pools we've tried.

How is your family cooling off this summer? Don't go to the neighborhood pool! Stay home with your Minnidip!
