For All Humankind - Book Review

I received a review copy of the book For All Humankind by Tanya Harrison and Danny Bednar, and I thought it had been pitched to me as a Father's Day gift idea, but the way it's written makes me think it's actually geared toward young adults. That's not a bad thing! It could be a good grad gift to inspire the next generation with stories of people following their dreams and never losing sight of the impossible.

I learned a lot of things that I never knew about space, the Apollo missions, and life in the 1960s by reading this book. It's as much about NASA's Apollo missions and the Space Race as it is about eight kids from around the world who heard about Apollo 11 on the radio or watched it on TV. Their stories that show that Apollo 11 wasn't just something that affected America but the whole world. While not all of the people interviewed became astronauts because of what they witnessed back in 1969, some did become engineers and teachers, and some of their own kids became pilots or NASA employees. That's pretty cool that the kids were so influenced by their parents' interest in space.

For All Humankind is published by Mango Publishing and is on bookstore shelves now. I received a free copy to review.
