I know I'm sharing this with not much time left for you to participate, but the October JumpStart Sketch Challenge at The ScrapRoom is still happening! And I've even got a process video for how I made my take on the sketch over on my YouTube channel.

This layout started with these two photos of my daughter and dad, plus a few embellishments that I knew I wanted to use: the "Heritage" letters (which I think are old Recollections) and the pink chipboard sticker that says "Read me a story and tuck me in tight". Those two pieces were musts for these photos.

Then, since I was scrapbooking family photos, I decided to use the new My Mind's Eye collection My Heritage that I received at the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo. It's very black, white, and grey, with some enamel dots and 3x4 cards that have family-themed phrases on them.

To complement this collection, I added some word stickers from Maggie Holmes and Pink Paislee, along with some Maggie Holmes flower stickers. I just wanted there to be a little more color on the page.

The washi tape on the side of the layout is from my stash. I liked that it had letters on it, which reminded me of little kids learning and reading.

So that's my take! If you don't have time to play along this month, there will be a new sketch challenge up next month. They are so much fun, and you're playing for cool prizes! Good luck!
