One of my favorite scrapbook challenges is the monthly Freaky Fast Formula challenge at The ScrapRoom. It's just so much fun to be given a "recipe" of what to use on the page and then try to figure out how it should all fit. Here's what I came up with this month:
This layout uses PhotoPlay Free Bird, American Crafts Thickers, Echo Park Have Faith, and some Maggie Holmes. It's a photo of my daughter wearing a popcorn bucket on her head last year. Seriously, little kids don't need toys. They just need random things they find around the house!
So I took most of the formula challenge elements and layered them behind my photo. The long strips I placed on the sides of the page. I saw one of The ScrapRoom design team members put the strips on her layout going horizontally, and I like that idea, too, but I was working with a vertical photo, so decided to just keep everything vertical.
But maybe I'll do this challenge again for another page and switch things up!
I just loved some of the sticker elements from the Free Bird collection. I chose to make the main title "Bucket Head", but I also used some smaller alphas for a subtitle of "Silly Bird". And that allowed me to use bird stickers from PhotoPlay and tie everything together. You'll also see birds on the patterned background paper.
And that's my take on the challenge! What scrapbook challenges are you playing along with this month? Have I missed any??
