If you've been reading the blog, you've probably read about the saga that is potty training. It's been fun, you guys. Ha ha. There have been a few things that I've used to help us make peeing in the potty fun: books! My kid loves to read, so why not read some books about how great using the potty is?
These are the books that have been in regular rotation. I'd love to find out what books you used with your kids!
Once Upon a Potty by Alona Frankel
This book is a classic. It was the first book I thought of when I decided to buy some potty training books. I actually had this book when I was a kid, but my mom, not realizing the book was available for both genders, bought me the boy version. (I turned out okay. Honest.)
Potty by Leslie Patricelli
I found this one at Target, and it quickly became one of my daughter's favorites. There aren't many words. Just pictures of a little kid (gender-neutral) using the potty. And waiting. And waiting. And waiting for something to happen. But when it does, UNDIES! My daughter liked picking out the pictures of underwear that she wanted to wear.
Time to Pee! by Mo Willems
You probably know Mo Willems because of his Pigeon books, but he's got plenty of other entertaining reads, too. I found this book at the library. We actually checked it out on two separate occasions. It's got cute little mice inside setting up balloons and confetti parades for the little kids who are using the potty.
