I'm participating in a scrapbook challenge this month that I haven't played along with in awhile. The Challenge YOUrself challenge blog has a new challenge called "Sunrise Sunset". Let that inspire you to scrap a picture with you in it!
Here's what I did:
One of the patterned papers had a circular pattern that I fussy cut and propped up on foam dots to accent the corners of my photo. I guess you could also say that circles are reminiscent of the sun, which ties into sunrise/sunset, right?
I also had a translucent photo cover with a yellow border that I adhered over my photo. I like how it frames me and my daughter.
I titled this "New Stuff" because this is a photo of my daughter and I at a Secret Santa gift exchange party at which she received some new toys. The alpha letters are Bella Blvd and Recollections.
The other embellishments on this layout are random things from my stash. I had put together a homemade kit filled with stuff that I wasn't really using but thought I should try to use. I think I can probably get a few more layouts out of this, but after that, I'll just have to toss whatever I haven't used. It's sad, but hey, this stuff has got to go!
Here's what I did:
I didn't have any pictures of sunsets or sunrises, so instead I decided to let the colors of a sunrise/sunset inspire me. At first, I wanted to do something with horizontal lines to mimic the look of a sunrise/sunset, but I didn't really have the right patterned papers for that. So I just collected some patterned paper that had oranges, yellows, and reds in it.
