When I attended the GFAF Expo the other weekend, there were several books specifically for those in the gluten-free or allergy-free community. I would recommend you check them out, especially if you have kids!
Switch Witch: Halloween is coming up, but what do you do if you have food allergies and can't eat half of the candy you collect trick-or-treating? Give your candy to the Switch Witch! She'll trade in your candy for a new toy! The book includes a super cute (and soft) plush witch in a cauldron. Adorable!
Dishes for Libby: Author Lena Hillard wrote this cookbook to share the gluten-free soul food recipes she had to create for her Celiac daughter. If you're looking for familiar favorites that you still want to enjoy, this cookbook has got you covered. Hillard also shares recipes on her blog.
Allergic to Bullying: As a fifth grade teacher, author Monique Vagueiro has experienced first-hand how kids with food allergies are bullied or segregated in school. Through this children's book, she aims to help kids stand up to bullying and spread allergy awareness.
So there you have it! Any of these books would be great to add to your bookshelves, especially if you've got kids with food allergies. Let me know what you think!
