If you saw yesterday's blog post, then you can probably guess that I'm going to be adding a new section to the blog: Mom Life! I'll try to post a little something each week about parenting here on the blog. Today's parenting post is all about the NJMOM Baby Expo.
I got to experience this Expo firsthand last weekend in Long Branch, NJ. (They have another one coming up on November 4, and you can register to attend here.) This event is a great resource if you're newly pregnant, a first-time mom or dad, or just looking for something fun that will get you and the littles out of the house for a few hours. There are giveaways, goodie bags for VIP ticket holders, and a family lounge where the kids can have some fun. AND more than 60 baby and toddler brands will be exhibiting and selling product!
Here are just a few of the items that I saw at last weekend's Expo that I really liked:
1. Doona Infant Car Seat Stroller - This thing is a stroller but it folds up and becomes a car seat that fits into a base in your car! So you don't have to have two separate items. It's all in one! Genius!
2. Tags Bamboo Muslin Swaddle Blankets - Because these swaddles are made with cotton and bamboo, they're much softer than a 100-percent cotton version. And all of the blankets feature a red, white, and black pattern to provide visual stimulation to infants.
3. Little Book of You - This personalized book would make a great baby shower gift, but you can always buy one for yourself and personalize it with all of your kid's information. It takes 15 minutes to fill out the online form, and the book includes everything from words that start with your child's name to a map with your child's first home address! The illustrations are gorgeous!
4. Nenikanopi Infineni Nursing Cover - This is a four-in-one, and it's really easy to switch between all the different modes. You can wear it as a scarf or poncho, then transition it to a privacy canopy when nursing. It can also become a car seat cover!
5. Cybex Sirona M Car Seat - This is a really great car seat brand, and I love the little touch here that aims to make life easier for parents: magnetic technology to keep the straps out of the way when putting your kid in the seat! It also is app-compatible to alert you if the child has undone the chest clip, if it's too hot or cold in the car, and if you've left your child in the car.
6. Thule Strollers - I had no idea that the Thule brand had a kid line! They offer an array of strollers, from your more everyday stroller (seen here) that is customizable with additional accessories as your family grows to jogging strollers that get you out and about with baby.
7. Fields Footwear - These baby and toddler shoes look cute but also have translucent soles (once you take out the insole) so that you can properly see if the shoe fits! Guidelines on the bottom help you see where your child's toes are, allowing you to more accurately "measure" your child's feet!
9. Sugarworks - If you're looking for sweet treats for a birthday party, baby shower, or any occasion, then look no further than NJ-based Sugarworks! I loved the mermaid designs, but there are a variety of decorated cookie designs to choose from, and they will be shipped to you. You can also get cookies that are gluten-free! The owner actually has Celiac disease!
Those are some of the fun things that I discovered at the NJMOM Baby Expo. Not to mention all the fun goodies that were in my VIP goodie bag. (Check out the recap in my Instagram highlights!) What will you discover? Head on over to the NJMOM Baby Expo website to get your tickets to the next show!

8. Nuna Leaf Grow - This baby seat is pretty cool, and not just because it can hold up to 130 pounds so even a parent could take a seat in it. Ha ha. It has an adjustable recline and grows with your child, becoming a toddler seat when you remove the infant insert.
