More New Food!

I've got a new recipe to share with you that is definitely going into our regular rotation! Meatloaf Sliders by Katie Lee from the Food Network magazine. I saw this recipe in an issue of the magazine, like, MONTHS ago, and finally got around to making it! The sliders are really easy to make and taste great on their own or you can put them on little slider buns with mayo. (I couldn't find any gluten-free slider buns, so we just went without.)

The recipe can be found by clicking on this link (takes you to the Food Network website). It uses ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry. And you can add or omit stuff to your taste. (Instead of using a grated onion [grated??? really???] I just sprinkled in some onion powder. But you can choose to not use onion at all.) The recipe claims it makes 24 sliders, but I used a little less than one pound of ground beef and got about 14 sliders. I guess it depends on how much meat you use and how big or small you want your sliders.

I would recommend using parchment paper on the baking sheet, as the recipe calls for. You definitely want something down on that baking sheet because the sliders will leak fat down onto the baking sheet. I used wax paper, which worked great, until I took the wax paper off the baking sheet and was left with a gross residue on the baking sheet. Never had that happen with wax paper before. Maybe parchment paper wouldn't do that? I'm not sure. All I know is that for some reason I have two very full boxes of wax paper, so I gotta use it somehow! If you go for parchment paper, let me know how it turns out.

Enjoy!
