Kids

I came across this in Glamour magazine and had to share:

Why is this interesting to me? Oh because I have the EXACT SAME DRESS as this girl and I got mine free last year at some press event. Now, unlike the girl above, I have to wear special tummy tuck undies when I wear this dress (and I'm having trouble filling out the top - what measurements were they using when they made this garment??) but I think it still looks pretty cute. In the winter, I wore it with a black blazer, sleeves rolled up a tad per the trend. Here's me in the dress last week:

Don't I look ready to command a boardroom? You can't see it, but I'm wearing red shoes just like the girl in the picture. I might add that it was my idea to wear red heels (the ones that elicit thousands of highly original "there's no place like home" jokes) with this outfit when I wore it in the winter. I wore red flats with it last week.

Now onto something that really matters:

"Crapbooking"; Recollections solid cardstock, Target $1 bin foam letters, a bunch of random ribbon

I decided to use up some of my ribbon stash to create a fun background for these pictures of me and my parents scrapbooking. Got the idea from my Elsie Flannigan book 52 Scrapbooking Challenges. What a great way to use up ribbon that you otherwise have NO idea what to do with. (Also got the idea for grouping four pictures from the book.)

"Words"; Recollections solid cardstock, K&Company stickers, handmade flower/heart embellishment from Amy Muffoletto

This next one was also sort of inspired by the Elsie Flannigan book. I had a whole sheet of word stickers from K&Company (purchased in 2006, people) and I had absolutely no idea what to do with them because I used up all the coordinating paper and I just couldn't part with these stickers. I mean, they will be useful for something... at some point... right? Well, last night I finally just went for it and made the sticker words sort of a border for the picture. I like how it turned out. I still have stickers left over so I'll probably do something like this again.

Thanks for looking!

P.S. The Robbie Williams song titles will be ending soon. I'm still working on the next stage of this blog (muchos thanks to the ladies who have agreed to be a part of it ... you know who you are) so I'm hoping that sometime next month everything will be ready to go. You guys are all "Ooo this is gonna be awesome!" and then it's going to happen and you're all like "Really? That was it?" I'm basically just trying to add a special feature to this blog. That's all. And that's all I'll say about it.

Okay... back to scrapbooking. Or ya know what? I might join the hubs downstairs for some Rock Band. I haven't played "Green Grass and High Tides" in FOREVER.

  3. You look fantastic in that dress!!! They should let you go on the Today show and do a segment about toys that I saw the other day. You would be so good at that. (But then I am your mom and not the least bit biased)
