Beauty

I hope everyone is enjoying Sunday. I just popped on to share a few things with you all.

This is a LO I did for a challenge at the Favorite Things blog. The challenge was to scrap your favorite city. Well, New York is not my favorite city but I had these great pictures of the blooming trees and flowers in the park where I sometimes eat lunch and thought, "Why don't I do a LO of my favorite spot in New York?" So that's what I did. I used the papers and embellies from the Bo Bunny paper pack I got over Easter. The green letters are American Crafts.

Isn't that pink tree beautiful? There are magenta tulips surrounding it. Every day at lunch at least 10 people stop to take pictures of that tree.

In other beauty news, I finally got around to listening to a song that my friend Danae posted on her blog a few weeks ago. It's called "Just Showed Up for My Own Life" by Sara Groves (born in NJ, grew up in MO). It's really pretty and really great and if you want to listen to the song (just listen, not buy), just type in "sara groves just showed up for my own life" in your Google search bar and the first result you'll get is from iLike.com. Just click where it says "play song from iLike.com" and the song will begin streaming (playing) and you're good to go.

You can also go here to hear a snippet of the song and watch a very moving trailer for Nomad. According to Wikipedia: "Sara was chosen as the subject of a film released in August 2006, titled Sara Groves - Just Showed Up For My Own Life, the first installment of a new reality film series called Nomad: The Show With No Home produced by Fearless Films Inc."After watching the trailer, I definitely want to find out how I can watch the film in its entirety. You might feel the same way. UPDATE: This is the website with clips from the film. It's Film 01.

And last but not least:
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (New Living Translation)
For our present troubles are quite small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us an immeasurably great glory that will last forever! So we don't look at the troubles we can see right now; rather, we look forward to what we have not yet seen. For the troubles we see will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever.

  1. Is that not an amazing song?! I love it.

And that is a great passage. I've been getting that message for a few weeks now. I'm wondering if I'm being prepared for something...

Also, Sara Groves is performing May 1st in Jersey City, if you're at all interested in going. I think tickets are less then $20. Steve and I are going :)

  2. I would love to go but I already have plans on May 1! Enjoy the concert, though. Is she playing a church?
