No Judgments - Book Review

Summer may be over, but if you're looking to capture that summertime feeling through books, then you might want to check out Meg Cabot's new No Judgments.

Sabrina/Bree has run away from a troubling experience in New York and now lives on Florida's Little Bridge Island working as a waitress at a cafe. She has evacuated her old life, you could say, but when a category 5 hurricane threatens the island, Bree refuses to evacuate. Instead, she shacks up with her employer's family. Once the storm has passed, Bree, who is an animal lover, helps rescue abandoned pets whose owners can no longer get back to them because the bridge from mainland to island has been washed away.

Lucky for Bree, she's got stud muffin Drew, the island's most eligible bachelor, helping her out. But these two end up doing more than working together to rescue animals. Eventually. Almost all of the book is just the sexual tension between them.

Throw in an overbearing mother, some crazy family situations, a terrible ex-boyfriend, and the ex's drunk bestie, and you've got the makings of a classic rom-com. Sure, it's predictable, but maybe you like that sort of thing? And if you do, you'll be happy to know that this is the first in a series.

No Judgments is published by William Morrow and will be available on bookstore shelves on September 24, 2019. I received a free ARC at BookCon.
