Be You Scrapbook Page

As you can see, I've been getting a bunch of scrapbook challenges in just under the wire here! This is my take on the May 15 challenge over at CSI. I've never participated in a CSI scrapbook challenge before, but it's been pinned to my Scrapbook Challenges Pinterest board for awhile, so I was excited to finally be able to play along!

So here is what I took from the "case file" we had to work with. I really liked the fluffy pom pom-like things in the provided image, but I didn't have anything similar in my stash, so I decided to take embellishment in my stash that was circular and follow a bit of the color scheme with the red, pink, yellow, and grey.

The picture in the case file was of a girl reading a book, and I just so happened to have two comic strips that I had cut out months ago from the newspaper all about a woman loving the smell of new books. That is SO ME! So I took the opportunity for this book-themed challenge to finally get these comic strips scrapped.

I added a little bit of journaling about why I was scrapping these comic strips. I will probably put this page in my Book of Me.

I also added several old October Afternoon book-themed embellishments to the layout. There is a lot of October Afternoon on this page, plus some Fab Scraps, Echo Park, Bazzill, Recollections, and a few unknown things from my stash.

So that's my take! I am happy with how this came out. Wish me luck with all these challenges this month! I have really been on a creative kick. Challenges are such a great way to kickstart the creativity, I think.

  1. What a fun take on the CSI challenge! I enjoyed reading how the image inspired you to create this layout. It shows that you don't always have to scrap photos. These comic strip have a story behind them so, why not ☺. Love how the multiple circle elements are your interpretation of the pompoms. Cute mix of papers, great stash use. Well done. Thumbs up from me. Thank you for joining us at CSI this month.
