Fierce Faith - Book Review

Fierce Faith by Alli Worthington is the book you need to read if you've ever felt you weren't good enough. If you've ever felt rejected or betrayed. If you've ever been scared for your children. If you've ever been afraid of failing. If you've ever had FOMO (fear of missing out). If you've ever been afraid of what the future holds. And especially if you've ever feared that you can't trust God.

This book takes you through all of those fears and gives you battle plans for how to get through them so that you can live your life brave and unafraid instead of living a life frozen in fear. After all, there are so many Bible verses that tell us we have no reason to be afraid and that we have strength through Christ, but sometimes we fear (the enemy) makes us forget. Fierce Faith is here to remind us.

If you're reading this book on your own, that's great! But if you're reading it as part of a study group, there are discussions questions at the end of each chapter. Plus, there is a Battle Plan appendix with links to free printables so you can have some of the book's important mantras hanging up where you will always see them (my favorite spots: the bathroom mirror, taped to your car dashboard), and you get more space for writing out answers to some of the end-of-chapter questions.

To get really personal, this book is EXACTLY the book I needed right now. I saw another blogger (Polka Dotty Place) post about this book on Instagram, and I thought, "Ooo that looks good." So when I saw this book was available through the BookLook Bloggers program, I immediately requested a copy.

For years now, people have been doing the "one little word" thing where you pick one word to summarize what you want your upcoming year to be about. I usually don't really do it, but after reading this book, I think I want my word to be "fear". That might seem strange, but I definitely need help in overcoming fear, and I think that should be my goal for this year. Hopefully, the battle plans in this book can help me do it! I'm already thinking about either doing the end-of-chapter questions as scrapbook pages for my Book of Me or as a themed Traveler's Notebook. Stay tuned because I'm sure I'll be sharing more about it on the blog.

Oh, and the cover of the book is really shiny. SHINY.
