Using Up My Scrapbook Stash - Kit 1 - Scrapbook Process 275

For the month of October, I decided to shop my scrapbook stash instead of buying new things. So here is my first layout made using one of the homemade kits I put together. It was a summertime/beach-themed kit, so I found pieces in it that were perfect for three photos of my daughter at an aquarium. You can see how this all came together in today's process video.

I actually had a dream about this scrapbook layout design, so I just knew that I had to recreate it in real life. (Do you ever dream about scrapbooking?) I kept one photo 4x6 size and cut the other two down to 3x4. Then I grabbed some random bits of patterned paper to layer behind the smaller photos.

Because I used a solid color cardstock as my background, I needed to finish it off with some gold splatters (Nuvo Mica Mist in Antique Gold) and a hand-drawn border.

The puffy stickers are older Simple Stories (from last year, maybe?), and they weren't originally part of this kit, but they were part of my stash, so I grabbed them to add extra dimension to the embellishment clusters.

Thanks for looking!
