I finally got to use a different pocket page design! It has come to my attention that I tend to take all vertical photos. That's probably because I take most of my pictures on my phone. However, when you have month after month of all vertical photos, it doesn't give you a lot of pocket page design options. Many of this year's pocket pages use a design of just six vertical pockets.
But not so with today's design! This one uses two vertical pockets, three horizontal pockets, and a 2x12 pocket on the side. If you watch today's process video, you'll hear how I feel about that side strip.
This was a fun one to work on because I got to use a lot more of the patterned papers and cut-aparts from the Simple Stories collection that I'm using for these monthly pocket pages. In some cases, I put embellishments directly onto the patterned paper or photo, and in other places I layered the embellishments on the outside of the page protector.
For the side strip, I cut a strip of patterned paper to fit inside and then embellished it on both sides. If you're worried about the paper strip falling out of the pocket (which it might do), then you can stick some clear double-sided adhesive on the inside of the pocket. That's what I did!
I love making these pocket pages. The only thing I do not like is photographing them! The glare! The glare! So, apologies for the glare on these, but I hope you found looking at them helpful for the next time you tackle a pocket page design.
